Not much to say, it was an alright episode, but I thought one part was hilarious:

"That's why the Sox will never win the World Series."

Whoops....

Why whoops? They are stranded on the island. I'm sure they don't get box scores.

I was referring to the writers. When then wrote this episode, the Sox still hadn't, and likely it still seemed like they wouldn't this year.

How do you know when they wrote it?

Well, they had to write it before they filmed it. And they usually film shows before releasing them. And this show's first episode aired: Sept. 22. So work your way back.

Exactly. The OP totally missed the writer's joke. The people on the island don't know what's transpired, that's what makes it funny. The writers aren't the ones in the dark, the OP is.

Wrong, I'd bet money that was written and filmed before it happened

Then why would they make a point to put that in? To go along with all the other sports talk on the show?

No, because Sox bashing was in around the time this was probably written and it worked in the context of the show.

I don't think you're qualified to say what was "in" at that point in time. I propose we call in an expert in "in," Brigden.

wrong. the writers were winking at the audience. i work near the Lost/Alias writing offices and they're only about 3 or 4 episodes ahead of broadcast.

They can write and film it in that short a time?

i suppose that 2 week hiatus gave them so more time, but last i checked they were only 4 weeks ahead. first seasons always have a time crunch because the order comes late and they have to ramp up production really fast.

Can someone give me a brief synopsis of what transpired (aside from the Sox joke)?

I could read it on TVTome but it doesn't have the details 🙂

TY in advance.

<--- craves for details

Just go to abc.com and read up on episodes there. Their descriptions of what transpired in the episode is right on. I missed episode 8, and went to their episode guide and was completely caught up and ready for episode 9.

Sure no problem. Also, don't forget about The Fuselage. This the official site for the creators and team behind the show.
