Is it just a single hour? I can't recall... did they know it was cancelled when they wrote this? Are we going to have a half-decent series finale, or is it just going to be a last episode of season 2 type thing?

I hope James gets naked.

edit: apparently it is just an hour and

After two seasons, 40 episodes, and an ambitious storyline, Stargate Universe comes to its end tonight. It wasn’t the end that the writers intended — SGU will end on a bittersweet cliffhanger, from all reports. There will be no third season, no wrap-up movie or mini-series, no webisodes or other last-minute reprieve. But it’s been one hell of a ride.

I hate it when this type of stuff happens. The Networkers tell the series writers and production for a series that they are canceled after all the series shows are filmed. I remember at least with Jericho they knew the series was ending for the shortened second season so there was a ending so you felt complete. I almost don't want to watch it because of this. Why should I watch the final show to have it end on a cliff hanger?

Could be worse. Like Atlantis... "Gee, let's fly Atlantis to Earth, blow up an overgrown hive ship, then land the city 6 feet away from the Golden Gate Bridge. Sure, NOBODY is going to notice that!"

Netflix streaming: Masters of Horror - episode "Right to Die"

I'm well aware. Still. MOAR!

Agreed. At least give them a few episodes to wrap it up somewhat.

What was even worse about that was the whole "We can NEVER do this! The city will blow up and we'll never make it in time! ... Oh look. We did it." Oh, and the fact that there was supposed to be a movie after that never got made.

yeah that's what i mean.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar_Galactica:_Blood_&_Chrome

hmm apparently it's just a pilot. i'll assume a series will be greenlit, they'll shoot it, then they'll can it.

It kind of annoys me that they have a winner with BSG, don't give it the support and stability it needs, then can it. Then they greenlight Caprica, dick around with it, and can it. THEN they decide that another BSG spinoff is a good idea.

Like fuck, does SyFy think we want galactica or not? If they think we want it, give us one good show and give the writers the security they need in order to make it good. If they think galactica just won't work, don't keep making new series.

Yeah - it was rushed but at least complete. I agree with you that I am not sure I want to watch this episode :(

That sucks. Where did you get the quote? I have been under the impression that they did get a chance to wrap it up nicely.

imho, the first spinoff was shyte. BSG was an abomination, not worthy of even a full one hour epsiode.

I got it from gateworld.

Caprica was pretty great IMO. It was neat to see how everything was pulling itself together. The only character I didn't like was Zoe's mom, but she got better in the second season.

BSG an abomination? WTF? The first two seasons were pure gold. The crappiness of the last two seasons was due to SyFy dicking around the writers.

I honestly thought they were going to kill off Rush as he realized after last weeks episode that Eli could do his job and maybe even better and he was going to trick him somehow so he would had been the one left.

I think bsg was only supposed to go 5 seasons. This is the magic number to syndication.
