After seeing my best friend's uncle's band play at Harpos tonight, we decide that the night isn't complete. After stopping by a friend's house and eating food at Coney Island, we decide to torch the bear my ex-girlfriend gave to me.
Attempt number one had failed being that it is 14*F outside and the bear being flame resistant.
We go inside the Meijer we try burning it down behind to find something flamable to soak it in. Our choice of weapon was starter fluid from the good old automotive section.
Attempt number two was a big success. We went into a parking lot with a garbage can containing newspaper and an empty (or so we think) quart of oil. My friend hoses down the bear until the bottle is empty and procedes to light part of the newspaper he torn off. The second he throws it in, a 6 foot flame comes shooting out of the garbage can. We decide it's time to vacate.
We pull out of the parking lot and my friend notices someone pulling a U-turn in pursuit of us. It was a good thing that we were really close to home and I knew I could easily lose the person in the subdivision by me. The first street we pulled into worked for a quick second until they passed us going in the opposite direction. The next time we went into the subdivision, it was all over and I lost them in a matter of seconds.
Knowing that we had been followed, we still decide to drive by and see if we can see flames shooting out of the garbage can. No fire, no cops, no nothing. I'd say tonight was a success since that person didn't get my license plate number and there were no cops waiting for me outside my house. Looks like the good old days are back again.
