The SycoraxRose and the newly-regenerated Doctor continue their adventures together in this Christmas Special episode. Christmas becomes a time of terror for Planet Earth, as the whole of mankind falls under the shadow of the alien Sycorax. Rose needs the Doctor's help, but can she trust a man with a new face?

"Christmas Invasion," Episode #216.

The destruction of Earth led to a wave of nostalgia and the creation of 'New Earth', a planet with very similar physical properties to Earth. The Doctor and Rose respond to a call for help and visit a hospital run by a sisterhood of humanoid cat people, the Sisters of Plenitude. They appear to have developed a cure for every disease, but the hospital hides a sinister secret. The Doctor and Rose are reunited with an old enemy, as the Face of Boe prepares to reveal the ultimate secret to the traveller without a home?

"New Earth," Episode #217.

Actually it's 2 episodes tonight. The first is The Christmas Invasion, an episode that ran for a full-hour on the BBC, so it's 1.5 hours on SciFi, and that will be followed by New Earth. Without spoiling things too much, TCI is a very good introduction of the new Doctor, and right away you'll see how he's different than the last one, along with the beginning of the Torchwood arc for the season leading up to the launch of the Torchwood spin-off series next month. As for New Earth, it's the most cleavage you'll get out of Rose for the entire series:D, oh, and the cat people are really well done costume-wise.

Enjoy. I downloaded the second season a few months ago and loved it.

The sets and special effects never cease to amaze me.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're going to squeeze in the Children in Need mini-adventure, which is kind of important for piecing together the time between S1 and S2. It's on YouTube, you should see it.

Season 2 is great. I downloaded it too because I couldn't wait. The new doctor is awesome. I like him 10x as much as the older one.

Does anyone know why Christopher Eccleston isn't playing the Doctor any more? I though he did a great job.

Something about getting burned out in just one season....wants to go back to the theater...the usual actor stuff.

He signed a 1-year agreement ahead of time. He didn't want to get typecasted as the Doctor*.

* Because we all know there are a ton of acting roles that call for eccentric British time lords

Not bad, but I liked Christopher Eccleston better :(

He was my second favorite after Tom Baker. Though I always must give bonus points to Colin Baker for attempting to strangle Peri.

Wait until you see The Girl in the Fireplace, you'll gain some respect for Tennant.

In the orginal series each Doctor was different. This time it seems that Tennant is is trying to recreate the Eccleston. I guess the Doctor never got around creating another Zero Room.

They're basically ignoring canon for the new series, I wouldn't make any assumptions based on it.
