The story for Heroes is already mapped out for 5 seasons. I enjoy the flow/continuity of that show; let's see how it holds up.

someone help me out here. I am trying to wrap my brain around this and I have also missed the last couple episodes since it moved to 10pm timeslot.

Humans created the cylons, how long ago in the past from the shows current events was this supposed to have occurred? A couple generations or something like a milennia?

Also it would seem these developments make Callie and the Chief's son a hybrid also.

Why wouldn't the doctors have noticed it?

Alot of plot holes to fill in I think...brain hurting....

Yeah, this is an annoying part about the whole concept of human cylons. It's implied, although never explained, that the human-like cylons are virtually identical to people. In Season 1, the president asks Baltar to find out a way to screen people to tell if they are cylons or not. That suggests that it's not as easy as poking them to see if they're full of wires. But there's also a scene where Boomer sticks wires in her arm to network with a computer, so... wtf?

One way to explain it might be to say there's something in their blood that allows them to interface with fiber optics (that's the connection it looked like Boomer stuck in her arm) consciously, but doesn't show up under standard blood tests - it may only show up under intense radiation bombardment or something, which is why Baltar needed the nuke in season 1.

Or I could just be pulling it out of my ass. :p

Maybe the final five don't really need a backstory other than their normal lives. Remember "All of this has happened before, and it will happen again." Perhaps humans create cylons, they partially destroy each other, cylons evolve into almost humans, then they live together. These new humans then make more cylons...

If that's the case, you're probably in the same frame of mind as the writers at this point.

I can't remember at any point of the show where it told us the significance of the final five, aside from having us infer from various scenes that they are somehow the originals, and gods to the cylons, and can only be seen while they're being regenerated. Does anyone know any other details about the final five?

Even then, things change on the fly. They kind of arbitrarily decided to kill off Issac's and Peter's girlfriend because they couldn't decide what else to do with her.

Still, Moore's comments about how they came up with the final 5 is kind WTFish. I thought I had read that they had a plan for the series beyond the mini-series that started it all....

Yeah, the plan was "the Galactica and Colonial remnant try to find Earth while being hunted by the Cylons. Sh*t happens along the way."

I finally saw the episode... damn the last half hour was good, i didn't expect that about then being 4 out of the 5 missing cylons.

So whats the deal, is Roslyn a Cylon? She didnt have a connection to the other 4, but she had a connection with number 6 and Athena?

Damn I cant wait till 2008!

You know I had a thought on the whole Cyclon detector thing.

Remember how both Six & Sharon glow red in the spine when they are ah mmm..... getting it on. All Baltar would have had to do was nail all women in the fleet & bam 1/2 the population cleared. :p

Probably wouldn't have taken him more than a month.

Starbuck could handle the other 1/2.

Some news from the official podcast - though this was a Q&A at a live viewing of the show, not the episode commentary executive producer Moore usually does:

- People who are definitely not the fifth Cylon: Admiral Bill Adama, President Laura Roslin, Major Lee Adama.

- The backstory for Colonel Saul Tigh to mesh his Cylon heritage to his 40 years in the service has already been put together.

- Why "All Along The Watchtower"? Because it's a bit of a personal obsession for exec producer Moore. He's wanted to integrate the song into a show he previously worked on, Roswell. Seems like there's not much in the way of significance past that - it was just a song to make them click over to the realization that they were not human.

- According to Moore, the show is ultimately about what the crew find when they get to Earth.

- How much of the story for the outed Cylons from this episode has been written? As of this moment, quite a bit has been penned.

- Katie Sackhoff leaving the show after the episode where she died was an elaborate ruse and a tightly-kept secret that even the other cast members didn't know about. Eddie Olmos and Mary McDonnell, the most upset of the cast, had to be let in on the secret - and then went ahead and threw a farewell party for Katie anyways. Hell, she was even out of the main title credits for those 4 episodes in which she was dead.

Battlestar Galactica's search for Earth continues to be an open-ended adventure, executive producer David Eick said.

Contrary to comments by Edward James Olmos (Adm. Adama) at the Saturn Awards on May10, no end has been announced for the award-winning show. Battlestar Galactica is preparing to film its fourth season, one that will include 22 episodes, rather than the previously announced 13.

"For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show's end," chuckled Eick. "I promise you that when [executiuve producer] Ron [Moore] and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know."

Flight of Battlestar Continues
