TomTom One 3rd Edition vs. Garmin C330

Both discontinued model.
TT1 is very portable, yet don't expect the battery to last more than 100 min per charge.

C330 is big, but battery can easily last more than 4 hours so you don't need to have it plug in all the time.

Both has NOT-SO-ACCEPTABLE display screen under sunny day.

Both, however, are adequate for weekend worrier, either TeleAtlas or Navteq.
C330 only got U.S. map / TT1 has NA map.

If either of them over $70, I would suggest you hunt down Nuvi 200 from your local craigslist.

I was looking at refurbs on amazon. They will be used sparingly. The main use is I have to start taking my stepson to his Dad's every other weekend since my wife has changed her schedule and I don't have a clue how to get there. Other than that it will be the occasional trip out of town so not everyday use by any means. We don't have a local craigslist unfornutely. The closest area is Charlotte about 70 miles away. I would prefer the Garmin as from all the reviews I have seen it has the best routing but I haven't found it under $150.

the tomtom one 3rd is a good device, but the newest model in that line of devices is a tomtom 130/130S, which you can pick up these days for $150 (the 130S costs more due to its helpful text-to-speech capabilities). i know this weekend tomtom is selling the 130 directly from their site for $150 this weekend, with free shipping.

Is the pun intended there? Seems like TomTom has the better deal with the entire NA maps, and that they are Tele Atlas instead of Navteq. Google maps recently dropped Navteq as a map provider - anyone read about that?
