Tomorrow my husband and I are going to look at a new car...Any pros/cons/tips at looking at a 2002-2004 certified pre-owned Lexus RX 330. Also, leasing over buying a new car. Any input as always is much appreciated!!

My husband is interested in leasing or a cert pre owned...I figure why not spend the extra $5,000. on a new one for better resale in the future (unless we get a good deal on a 2003 or 2004)...what is your experience?

Not to be rude, but leasing is for suckers.
Really? even if you have the option to buy at the end?

Yes, it's a huge waste especially when you buy! It's like paying for two cars but only getting one.

Here is the deal:

If you have the $$$ and the lease payment isn't a big deal in your finances (IE, you have a lot in savings, you don't have credit card debt, you makes tons and tons of money, etc) leasing is fine.

But buying a car is a better financial decision.

you almost always have the option to buy the car at the end, but unless you just happen to have 5-10k just laying around to pay the vehicle off it doesnt make any sense.

just out of curiosity, what's the big problem with leasing a car?

Having a car payment for 2-3 years and then nothing to show for it, unless you make the balloon payment at the end that's generally much too high?

Look to buy a used, certified RX. The owners before you took the depreciation hit, and the car is yours in a few years.

That is what we are thinking of doing. We are going to look at 2002-2004 models...just want to find out more about the CPO warranty.
