We all had a blast. There was beer everywhere I stumbled, most of which were very good, though I did have a few stinkers.
the band got beer too
a shot of the tents
more tents and more people and more beer
homage to the beer gods
me and mrs.homebrewerdude (we are 7 months along so no beer for her!)
At the end of the day i was drunk. I probably sampled 40 beers, or so, at roughly 4 oz./sample. Though I ditched a few beers that were bad. It was a great atmosphere, and everyone was well behaved.
My favorite beer was an Imperial Red (i don't even think thats a real style!) that weighed in at 7% from
this brewery
Bells was there, but they were sporting these extreme beers that just didn't do it for me.
lake louie is a great little brewery. very limited distribution since they only have a 3 bbl system. Great Beers though!
Rocky River had a great stout, called the Oompa Loompa Chocolate Stout, and a Kolsh that was the best kolsh i tasted there (though I think it was a bit too red to fit the category style guidelines)
There seems to be a movement to brew Bourbon aged porters.... I like bourbon, but not in my BEER!
Govnor's House in Illinois had a nice IPA (there were IPAs all over the place, but this is the only one I wrote something down). I would link to their sight, but it has midis.
anyways, it was great fun, and well worth the admission price.
