ROFLMAO!! Carbon dating? Funny how the church is so confident of carbon dating to prove that their bones are somehow significant, but they try everything in their power to discredit carbon dating when it proves that a 6,000 year old earth is bullshit.

Catholics don't doubt the earth is more than 6,000 years old.

Yeah, right. Most actually do believe in the young earth creationism bullshit and up until a VERY short time ago you could have been jailed, excommunicated and even killed for saying otherwise.

I love how carbon dating is acceptable when used on holy remains but unacceptable when used on dinosaurs.

I believe their arguments are
1. Carbon dating can't accurately date objects older than a few thousand years
2. Prior to the Genesis flood the earth's climate was significantly different and yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah

How convienient!

So what about the carbon dating on the shroud of turin?

Wikipedia -
Radiocarbon dating in 1988 by three independent teams of scientists yielded results published in Nature indicating that the shroud was made during the Middle Ages, approximately 1300 years after Jesus lived.

Even more recently. How about today for instance? Catholic missionaries are still spreading the word at gunpoint.

BTW, for those among us here moronic enough to think that US Catholics have somehow become more evolved in their beliefs, over the last 20-30 years the numbers who believe in the young earth, biblical view of creationism is still holding steady at about 50%. FIFTY FREAKING PERCENT. Half the catholics in the USA believe that the earth popped into being 6,000 years ago and that geology and fossil records proving otherwise are planted by god to test their faith.

HALF!!
