I prefer some nice roma tomatoes sliced on toasted sourdough and have fat free mozerella melted over it - sometimes adding red onion.

Dump the miracle whip and put on some mustard, cheese and either roast beef or turkey and you may have something there!

I only like tomatoes when they're mixed with something else. I don't think they taste bad, it's just I have some unexplained aversion to them.

The perfect tomato sandwich:
- tomato slices (from a large, firm tomato [best in the summer when picked fresh])
- lemon juice & zest (1 tsp & 1/2 tsp, respectively)
- mayonaise (1/3 cup; your choice of what kind, homemade is best)
- salt and pepper (1/4 tsp each; throw a pinch of cayenne and cracked red pepper for spice, if you want)
- Italian bread (preferably freshly baked)

Combine lemon zest and juice, mayonnaise, and spices. Mix well. Slice your bread and spread the mayo mix on each piece. Mate the two pieces, mayo-side in, and put on a panini press until cooked to your desire. Take off the press, layer tomato slice on the inside, recombine, and enjoy. Add some mozzarella (preferably homemade) to the mix if you are a cheese fan.

I love tomato sanwiches. Salt, pepper, and a slice of good ole kraft american! When I make burgers, the tomato slice is thicker than the burger!

I grow my own tomatoes though.
Here's a pic of my latest ones :)

My biggest this year so far has been 1lb/12oz. The ones in the pic are 1lb/2oz and 2ozs. The branch broke on the small one so I just pulled it off to let it ripen.

If you want a little crunch, add some diced Beltsville Bunching green onions on top of the tomato.

One of my favorite sandwiches to make ...

1 Green or Red bell pepper
1 container of the cherub tomatoes
1 small red onion
1 english cucumber
2 dozen bollilo rolls (sp?)
vinegar
cold water

Cut up the bell pepper, slice all tomatoes in half, cut/peel the onion in half moons, slice the cucumber thin so that it can be folded without cracking. Place all this in a plastic container, then go with a solution of 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar - but you can change it to your taste. Seal off the container and shake to get mixed up. Then just make a trench in the rolls and put the mix in there. For something different, add shredded cabbage.

This shit is soooooo damn good to snack on - but your breath will smell, and if you eat too much at once, you will stink like a skunk if you sweat.

Home grown tomatoes FTW. Why do home grown tomatoes have waaay more, and better, flavor than mass-produced tomatoes?

Picked at the right time.

Perfect sammich:
1) white bread
2) maters
3) bacon
4) salt pepper
5) mayo

don't get fancy with perfection.

That does sound very good. Another fun thing is to slice the tomatos a bit more thin, lightly sprinkle salt and pepper on them, and then spatter your favorite salad dressing across the plate and eat with your fingers. :)

Toasted wheat, 3/4" thick slices of vine ripe tomatoes, smoked gouda or cheddar sliced off a block of cheese (none of that pre-sliced crap), red onion, spicy brown mustard, little mayo and you got a winner.

<- don't like miracle whip
