Sometimes being in close proximity to Norristown, PA has its benefits.

Now with a pic for the uninitiated.

Joe Corropolese would whack me if I got a tomato pie in Philly. He will allow me to go to Conshy Italian Bakery, but only when he is out of sheets.

So, it's like a pizza with just the sauce?

Not exactly....the sauce is doughier than conventional pizza. The sauce is sweeter and chunkier. And it is eaten cold. At $11 for a 30-slice sheet, you can feed a party on the cheap and I have not been to a party around here that did not have at least one full sheet on the table.

ok, so it's like a cold sicilian pizza, without the cheese.

k.

Closer, but still not the same. Thinner crust, sweeter sauce. Actually, it comes sprinkled with parmesan, but there's no melted mozzarella.
