[Yoda] If tomato pie be what you seek, then go to Tackanellis in Philadelphia you must [/Yoda]

Joe Corropolese would whack me if I got a tomato pie in Philly. He will allow me to go to Conshy Italian Bakery, but only when he is out of sheets.

So, it's like a pizza with just the sauce? 😕

Not exactly....the sauce is doughier than conventional pizza. The sauce is sweeter and chunkier. And it is eaten cold. At $11 for a 30-slice sheet, you can feed a party on the cheap and I have not been to a party around here that did not have at least one full sheet on the table.

ok, so it's like a cold sicilian pizza, without the cheese.

k.

Closer, but still not the same. Thinner crust, sweeter sauce. Actually, it comes sprinkled with parmesan, but there's no melted mozzarella.

Damn vegans with their "I can't eat cheese / meat!!!"

That's not a real pie! A real pie would have cheese atleast 🙂
