So i installed tomato by shibby's(no relations) firmware on my asus ac56u router, lo and behold the 2.4ghz band doesn't work. So i wanted to flash back to stock but can't, says invalid headers. Tried the asus firmware restore utility, first it fails uploading the firmware, 2nd time it uploads the stock firmware but it says it failed to recover the system... what do i do now?

Managed to flash the asuswrt-merlin firmware in tomato and it didn't give any errors, works fine now 🙂

Surprised you had any problems with Shibby's firmware. Could have been a bad flash, but at least you got something flashed and didn't brick it.

First router i bricked, can't even get into the recovery mode, this was the second router which luckily didn't brick. Don't ask why i flashed shibby again...
