Tomato and RT-N16 Networking Question

Here is my full setup

1. In the basement

COMCAST Modem --> Wireless Router1 ASUS RT-N16 (Tomato) --> ZYLEX Powerline adapter and desktop.

Plugged the powerline adapter in to one of the wall sockets.

2. Second floor
ZYLEX Powerline adapter --> Wireless Router2 ASUS RT-N16 (Tomato) --> Xtreamer and ROKU

SSID for the basement router is XXX1

Currently wireless routers have separate SSIDs. Plan is to have one SSID and make the Wireless Router2 in the 2nd floor a repeater.

How do I make the 2nd floor router just a wired repeater for SSID XXX1.
What are the settings that I have to set in the Tomato admin page on Router2 to make it just a wired repeater for SSID XXX1?

Thanks in advance
Pilla

If by "wire repeater" you mean that the input to the second Router would come via Network cable.

It should be configured like this.

Using a Wireless Router as a switch with an Access Point - http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

If you end up with tow Wireless Router/Accesss Point, configure them with the same SSID, then set one Wireless to Channel 1, and the other to channel 11.

Thanks Jack.

You are right the input to the 2nd router would come from a network cable from the ZYLEX powerline network adapter.

Will check the instructions from the link.
Thanks again.

Pilla: I'm trying to get the same configuration to work. Were you ever able to get this up and running? If so, how?

Thanks!
