The value of a message rests on and is dependent on the valuing of those to whom it is addressed.

This speaker seemed to need to show how smart he is by how stupid those he speaks to are.

When I realized he was asking me to join him in the acquisition of a superior truth that would allow me to look down on others, I turned him off.

It's far more important to know how stupid we were made to feel. The road to freedom from feelings of inferiority doesn't lie in flattering the ego but in the realization that our feelings are a lie.

And the answers to everything else lie down that same road.

It's comedy, Moonbeam. Calm down.

And it's essentially spot on.

"Your idea of property rights is different, you must be a racist."

"Nullification? You support slavery."

"Get rid of our empire? You're an isolationist, that's how Hitler came to power."

"End the drug war? You don't care about children."

I have never read a politically motivated book, With the exception of maybe the Bible. I started reading one once and it seemed like it said Blah, Blah, Blah.

The object of education should be to teach a person to think for themselves, and not to indoctrinate people in a specific idealogy.

Yea...I used to make degrading statements about how stupid people are...I came to realize I thought too much (or too little of myself, if you prefer)...Regardless of what I think the truth is, I try to have a little more respect for others than I used to..
