it gets played on the radio here on our Rock station (100.7 WMMS) and i heard it once, and it was pretty damn catchy and i love it.

Sounds like Chris Issac's "Baby Done a Bad, Bad Thing"

That's not a criticism, I like both of those songs.

And ZZTop's "La Grange" which is pretty much a variation on the same theme, musically.

eh, La Grange is a stretch, sure it has a similar guitar sound, but its not the same strings, and its pace and count seem different imo.

(cant find Chris Issac anywhere) cuz its Chris Issak, not Issac
