Tom Hardy is the man

I had my doubts that Tom Hardy would be able to live up to the expectations set in the series by Heath Ledger, especially with a mask, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and would even say that he did a better of job playing a villain. This guy has a serious future as "the bad guy."

If only anyone could understand more than 30% of what he was saying.....

damn, I wish I could translate phrases like "mrgphhh ralpherle urlllgardyy!" like you guys apparently can. :\

Hardy's voice was nowhere near as good as ledgers, sounded too synthesized and sean connery'ish.

I could barely understand anything when I watched it, but it wasn't just Bane, it was the entire movie due to terrrrrribad sound settings at the theatre I saw it at. About 1/3rd or more of the audience left about 15 minutes in to get a refund, I should have in retrospect. Cool movie anyway, I look forward to seeing it in better circumstances later on.

Tom Hardy is cool, ever see Bronson? It's very strange, but impressive work.

well, it sounds like you had a more specific problem at the theater, but the dialogue is horrible in all the Batman movies. Sound mixing seems to be getting worse and worse these days. :\

Bane's voice at time sounded like he was talking through a tin can. They should have cleaned up his voice or re-record his dialog in a studio.

Havent you seen Bronson?

I think they must've used a body double during certain scenes. There is this scene in which he climbs down using a chain while pummeling batman when they meet the first time. His biceps are crazy huge in that one scene.

Maybe maybe not, it's incredible what lighting, lens choice, and camera angles can do to accentuate things.

Yeah. Could be. But the first thing that came to mind when i saw that physique was "body double". Then my cousin showed me a trailer of "warrior". And i was like :O

I still can't believe people didn't think he sounded just like Rush Limbaugh.
Especially that speech on the steps of city hall (whatever that was?).
His ranting, voice rising and falling while speaking, was exactly Rush.

Oh, while I'm at it...
In Total Recall, wasn't that Obama's face on the money in the suit case?
It looked like it to me.
And several have mentioned that too.
It was a fast shot, so probably will need the DVD so it can be freeze framed.

Will do. Have a few others lined up as well including "The Bridge on the River Kwai". If Ron Swanson likes it, hell it must be good.

One of the guys (don't remember which one) in the commentary of "Layer Cake" mentioned that Tom Hardy is going to be a star one day...looks like that day has finally arrived. I noticed him getting parts that were better and better and higher profile. He's a really good actor.

Better than Heath Ledger's Joker? Not a chance. I like Hardy's performance as well, but playing Bane wasn't anywhere as dynamic or complex as playing Joker.

I have liked what I've seen from him in his other movies, and I think he's going to do well.

He'll be playing Al Capone in Cicero in 2014. Wonder if he'll get fat for that role.
