Tom Hanks to star in Da Vinci Code movie

yeah...Hugh Jackman would be great for the role if the character wasn't supposed to be around 50ish.

Harrison Ford would also have been great...but he is definitely looking older than 50ish these days. Hanks seems the right age.

Yeah, Jackman is kinda young for the part. But 50ish? I thought Langdon was in his late 30s...

they should make an angels and demons movie. would be much more exciting.

What is this angels and demons movie you speak of...another book?

dan brown's book before the da vinci code. same protagonist. i felt is was more exciting and the plotline was more engaging than davinci. yet the structure of the novel is very similar.

If such a movie is made, expect the same outcry from the religious bigots as any of the other "historical" novels turned into movies.

They have already mobilized forces to write detraction books against the code, imagine the picketing and protests that will occur because of a movie.

What was happening with the Passion of Christ and others will be nothing compared to this outrage.

I'm extremely suprised they're going to make this movie. The religious nutbars are gonna be all over it.

All that noise only serves as free advertising for the film.

You can't buy this kind of publicity.

As already stated...it will be some awesome advertising for the film. Anybody who gets worked up about the book is way too insecure about their religion.

No...if I remember correctly, they state at the beginning of the novel that he is in his late 40s...possibly early 50s. Definitely out of his 30s.

I wonder who plays sophia, better be someone hot.

Agreed. If they pic someone I think is fugly...it will ruin everything about the movie.

The French actress from Braveheart would be sensational.

angels and demons is just too unbelieveable

right, because the premise behind such movies as spiderman, the day after tomorrow, xmen, and other such movies are completely believable.

your analogy has no merit

da vinci code is a novel that tries to be real, even though its fiction. Its completely different from spiderman, which is TOTALLY fiction.

I bet they will try to make a movie that is somewaht "real"
