Tom Delay admits infidelities

yet another example hypocrisy coming from the right - the "Family Values" party - barf.

In his new book, he writes
"I drank too much, I slept with women I wasn't married to. I neglected my family. This is the truth, and I recount it with a deep sense of grief that I ever lived in such a manner.

I really, really don't get it. Conservatives want so badly to dictate what other people can and cannot do and with whom... yet time and time again, we have seen stories like this exposing them for what they are - hypocrits.

I'm not saying the Dems aren't... but I don't see many of them attacking my civil rights.

EDIT: link added

Wow, this actually made me laugh out loud.

The Hammer is actually more pathetic than I ever imagined, I thought he reached a new low on MTP this past Sunday when he once again, even after everything, labeled Iraq war protesters as unpatriotic, but this takes the cake.

And he has the nerve to call Clinton "Slimey". I guess it takes one to know one

Gingrich said the same thing recently.

Looks like the Repubs are trying to cleanse themselves before the election in an effort to still keep the religious vote on their side.

They "repented".

He's just reaching out to his base of crooks, liars, and other criminals.

In other words, most of today's Republican party...

When I saw him on MTP I was wondering why he was even there. Another disgraced former politician whose talk means absolutely nothing.

Not to mention his "Today Show" spew-fest

Those on the right who are pounding their fists the loudest and screaming "immoral!" are generally the most egregious hypocrites. It's proven time and time again.

Scumbag doesn't even begin to describe him.

Why is is that the more pious the image the more immoral they turn out to be. I can only hope he gets convicted and thrown in the slammer for some time.

They should modify the oath of office to include a promise "I will shoot myself in the head if I am ever caught in a lie." and be forced to wear a sign that says, "I should be dead." if they don't.".

You always find the biggest puss sack scum hiding behind the biggest phony moral front.

The Republican party is a magnet for maggots.

And Obama...

They are taking the same approach that Obama is... Air all the dirty laundry that could bite them in the butt as early as possible so that by the time the election comes around it's all "old news" and they can roll their eyes at any questions on the topic that may be thrown their way.

As to the OP... Delay is becoming more and more of a putz every time he opens his mouth.

Banking on the emotional circus act of Christian forgiveness where everybody gets to feel important because they forgave.

We forgive you Tom; glory to the Lord, who has saved you.

Heh...so true about legislating morality. Do as I say, not as I do.

and it makes me wonder, why are these people revered by so many?

I think it brings up an interesting question - because Christians are "forgiven" for their sins if they believe Jesus is God...does that enable them to commit a lot of uhh (for lack of a better word...) "Bad Stuff" simply because they know they are already forgiven?

Strangely this thread is being ignored by the hardcore R's on the forum, curious thing that.

Its a pointless and ignorant thread, using the actions of one man to discredit all conservatives and everyone that is religious. Its the equivalent of saying that all liberals and all Democrats are lying, rapist, alcoholic, hypocrite murderers because of the Kennedys.

Yeah, but why they always seem to forget, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" part?

Why is it that anything that has to do with republicans or conservatives has a direct link to religion for you people? Are there no church going liberals? I've never understood why this card has to be played every... single... time...

Funny, sounds a lot like Al Gore and his religious following of global warming zealots.
