i dont know if hell be a pedo or anything like that.
but i can see him turning into a sideshow and being marginalized.

So sick of him, his giddiness about Katie, and that cult he belongs to. He's really burning his career. Shame, not many people can stay in the biz and be respected as long as he has so far. Better hope War of the Worlds is not a flop.

He's in love. Big deal. I don't see how this has anything to do with your life. Move along.

Katie Holmes is hot, he is going through mid-life crisis trying to get a young chick. It's weird that Katie always says that she dreamed of marrying Cruise when she was like 7 or 8 years old and he was already 20s.

OH BS. This is al la big publicity stunt. He didn't know how to respond to how they met. Give me a break. And isn't it odd that he proposed at hte eifel tower, yet no one recognized him? Now i have to beleive that someone, ANYONE, too ka picture of them there and it would have sold for 10s of thousands to tabloids.

It's all a big publicity stunt.

Oh, they both happen to be in big movies this summer and their union acts as perfect cross-marketting into each other's demographic. What a crock of crap.

And I could care less.

I can't believe nobody here didn't catch onto this.

Remember Jerry Macguire..."show me the money"...?

Both Tom Cruise and Steven Spielburg took no salary for War Of The Worlds. Instead, both signed contracts to get a percentage of the movie's worldwide reciepts.

Tom Cruise is reportedly going to get at least 10% (possibly more) of the reciepts.

Ah hah! Now you guys should slowly be realizing why Cruise was on almost every single major talk show these last few weeks (late night and daytime), why he had that stupid "Around The World With Tom Cruise" daytime special with the Today Show, why he's playing to the media with the Katie Holmes relationship, etc.

More media coverage about Cruise = more media coverage about his movie = MORE MONEY FOR TOM CRUISE.

Yes, I would normally think these Tom Cruise media circus was a bit "Jacko" ridiculous, but then I realized the guy is making a smart business decision here. A few weeks of parading in front of the TV for one big payout.

Tom is easily going to make upwards of $70 million (and quite possibly more) for this one movie.

And after War of the Worlds has completed it's box office run, expect Cruise to disappear into the shadows once more.

So he actually MARRIED someone for publicity? I think that's a little far-fetched.

He hasn't married anybody yet, only got engaged. I'm starting to think Tom Cruise is falling for all the media coverage about his relationship. I'm sure he figures any publicity is good publicity. But the scientology stuff and coming out against antidepressants is likely to offend some of the audience.

He seems increasingly gay to me, and his behavior increasingly bizarre. He seems to be coming unglued. Katie Holmes is pretty but oddly asexual (she's a 26-year-old virgin!), and there's no way his frantic efforts at showing he's in love with her are for real. Between the Scientology and his weird recent behavior, it's hard to be confident he won't lose it completely.

What's interesting about Tom Cruise is that no one really knows anything about him, despitte all the interviews and what not that are out there. That's because for years his publicity was carefully controlled. He had one of the most expertly crafted images of any people in the world. That's all gone to hell since he fired his former publicist and hired his sister.

THere are rumors about him being gay, but it's difficult to tell whether they are just around because of gay men's fantasies or whether there's some truth to them. He could very well be gay. A lot of Hollywood marraiges are phony. When two people hook up in Hollywood it helps both of their careers. Don't think Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, and now Katie Holmes haven't benefitted from being associated with Tom Cruise (and vice-versa).
