The New England Patriots have sauntered through the rest of the league this year. But on the verge of perfection, their leader has come up gimpy.

Photographs and video show Tom Brady wearing what appears to be a walking cast while in New York on Monday. A video of Brady in the cast is available on TMZ.com.

The Boston Herald reported that Brady -- flowers in hand -- was visiting the apartment of his girlfriend, Gisele Bundchen.

During his weekly radio show on WEEI, Brady did not deny that he suffered some sort of injury during Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers in the AFC Championship Game.

"Ah, you know, there's always bumps and bruises. I'll be ready for the Super Bowl," Brady said. "I'm not worried about that. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It's nothing serious."

Patriots spokesman Stacey James wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press late Monday night that the team had no comment on the photos.

Brady, who threw 50 touchdown passes and only eight interceptions during the regular season, was not at his best on Sunday. He threw three interceptions in the 21-12 victory over the Chargers.

He now has two weeks to recover. The Patriots meet the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII on Feb. 3 as they try to complete a perfect 19-0 season.

If he's walking on it then it can't be to bad.

Don't count on Eli too much, he'll let you down but if you're a Gigante fan you already know that.

Yea I know it's obviously not gonna inhibit him at all, just givin me a little hope the Giants can pull it off.

I'm not a Giants fan per se, but I'd rather see Eli win it than Brady.

Gisele is really a Giants fan (she does live in NY) and broke Tom's foot on purpose. She figured she might as well take him out from the game since no one else could.

Thanks Gisele!

Wow, will it take upsetting arguably the best team in history to give him some dap?

Props to you Jack Ryan  His brother too had gotten a lot of a shit until finally winning the Superbowl, now I guess Eli has to do the same for anyone to think he and the Giants are a decent team.

Yes, it will. He's gotten better (with some exceptions) as the season has gone on, but I think it's hardly enough to start calling him a stud.

I hope he'll be ok by gametime in 2 weeks. I want to see the Giants win, but the victory wouldn't be complete if the Patriots have an excuse for their loss.

exactly. While his short game has improved, his long game is pretty bad.

Even if the Patriots lose, I don't think anybody will try and hide behind an injury. As much as people hate them, they don't try and make excuses. In the AFC Championship game last year the only thing the team talked about was blowing an 18 point lead. They didn't bitch and whine about how most of their starting defense was hurt - they made no excuses.

I expect Brady to play and to play well. Shit, he played last season with a sports hernia.

I completely agree with you with regards to players and coaches. It's the Patriots fans who wouldn't be able to shut up about it.

You are now just looking for something to complain about. He's been fine, noone said he was stud. Everyone can get off Farve's nuts now, kthxbye.

Yeah, these last few years have brought out a lot of ass-hattery that was otherwise less prevalent in the Pats' fan-base. It's unfortunate, a lot of us aren't bad guys, I swear :)

Just because no one likes Eli doesn't mean we're Brett nuthuggers. Go ahead and root for your overrated QB, mmmk?

Overrated?!?!? That's just absurd. I'm not saying he's extremely underrated, but there's no doubt that he's not overrated. That description would belong to Tony Romo and a few other QBs in the league :D

Oh my... Seriously, who is "rating" Eli so high that he is now overrated? No one in NY thinks he is a messiah, but he's played fine.. Better than Farve, better than Romo, better than most QBs in the last few weeks. He didn't win the games, he didn't lose the games, but he made plays that a QB has to.

The original comment was just from a frustrated football fan bitching and looking for someone to target (Eli), which was without merit.

Enjoy the Super Bowl... Maybe you can watch it with Romo.

lol, Eli overrated. All year it's been, "If you're going to play in this league, he's going to have to play better than that." Now he's overrrated.
