Has anyone read this novel before, I have been looking for it online and found that it sales for a pretty good amount. And I haven't been able to find a cheap copy of it anywhere(thats still instock). Just like for some of your opinions. Is it worth the cost?

I just finished LotR and figured I would read something else by him, but didn't want to read The Hobbit yet.

I dunno, it's just a bunch of songs and poems. So if you're into that stuff from LOTR then pick it up.

Check out The Simarillion and Unfinished Tales if you're interested in learning more about Middle-earth. Then you can move onto the 12 volume History of Middle-earth if you're still interested (it starts with The Book of Lost Tales).

I went to the library and found it, to my suprise, and I was suprised again to see that it is short, and as you said full of songs and poems. That was one of the only things I didn't like a lot of in the LotR. But I also got The Simarillion, so I will read both then go from there.

thanks for your input
