is there like a pill that blocks liver enzymes so that medicine will have more effect?
I use to take a fourth of a pill and that worked now I am up to 6 full pills and they don't affect me very much.

It's time for you to switch medicines. It's probby horrible on your liver to take 6 pills like that. It's like tolerance to alcohol - you don't feel it, but your liver does.

BTW, after you've quit taking it for a while, your tolerance to it will drop.

What is the medication for, or are you just trying to get higher from drugs?

Nice and insensitive.

Some people do rely heavily on medications. I am one of them. I get headaches daily and some knock my on my ass. I have been prescribed Tylenol 3 for the bad ones, but seeing as it happens quite a bit, I can take 4 and it doesn't really do much anymore.

You obviously haven't been reading this forum long enough to know that some people will say one thing, but really mean another. (Can't remember that idiom)

What are you taking?

There isn't really a way to lower a tolerance other than stop taking them. You could ask your doc to be switched to a different med.

I am not trying to get high
if I wanted to do that it wouldnt be from my medicine

lorazepam minor tranquilizer-can't really switch to a different one because tollerance to one means tollerance to all of them

There is nothing you can do in the case of benzos. Sorry. Increase dosage or take medicine holidays to help lower the tolerance back to normal.

If you're needing to take 6 of them, you really should just cut back. You're right, with benzos, you'll have a tolerance to basically them all. However, another may be better, since their half-lives can vary greatly.

But dude, benzo addiction is SERIOUS, both mentally and physically. Depending on what you're taking them for (sounds like sleep, or anxiety too?), you just cut way back on them and look for alternate ways of helping yourself like exercise, better diet, etc...

I don't know what to tell ya. Your doc would be much better qualified. Tell him your problem. But from what I've heard, you really don't want to be addicted to benzos. BAD news! IMO, look for other options! :)
