Todd has left the Building

Our #1 in Seti.....Sorry ta see you leave.
Yes - I have gone to the GPU Users Group since this is more specific to the type of systems that I am using here. I retained the #1 RAC spot for S@H for a long time and it was time for someone else to get the limelight at #1. I was a member of Team Anandtech for 3 years so it was time for a little change. Since my departure from this team to GPU our group has gone from not being in the top 100 to being 28th and climbing every day by 12-15. This is with a minimum of users - right now only 21. The power of the GPU shows through and that is what we are trying to showcase.

It has been a long run and maybe some day I will come back to this fine team. Warm regards!

They still let you move points from team to team like with old SETI?

I thought they did away with that! It was one of the things that turned me off of the original SETI.

The team-points isn't moved, they'll stay with whatever team user was on when the task was validated. The users own credit on the other hand doesn't decrease, and it's this you'll see on the stats-pages. So, if you looks on the users on a team, it can look like the credit did transfer, but if you take your time to sum the users points, you'll either see this is much larger than the team-total, or it can be less than the team-total in case a big-time producer has left the team.

So, any increase in new teams ranking is only due to production after the move.

Note, among the BOINC-projects, CPDN doesn't follow the rules. CPDN doesn't use the BOINC-system for crediting. Instead, the CPDN-stats is re-calculated based on trickles, and this leads to all users credit in CPDN goes to their current team.

Sorry to see you go Todd 🙁, hope you enjoy your new team.

Thanks for the clarification.

I did the original SETI up to the end with Freewolf and several others here under "Rebel Alliance" but moved onto F@H when it ended. I "thought" BOINC did the points like F@H where what you crunched when you where somewhere stayed there and moving just started a new count under the new team, while adding to the donors total. I guess from reading this thread I was lead to believe that wasn't the case, that or jumped to an incorrect conclusion.

I just remember what a bummer it was when somebody left the original SETI that had been a long timer and how devastating it could be to the remainder of the team. So it sounds like it's working as F@H does. I left TeAm Anandtech for a while and left 2 million with the team I was previously folding which is how I believe it should be.

Well, as ViRGE well knows, Todd is powerful, but can't be completely trusted. :sneaky:

Hey Todd
How's it going.
I'm still crunching Seti under the Rebel Alliance nick. As far as I know I'm the only one left.

Pretty good for the most part!

I still check the stats for the other projects in the weekly stats thread and see you are still crunching along!

Hope you and your family are doing well!
