Has there been any comparisons between a Dual Xeon system versus a Dual Core Pentium EE? It sounds like the P EE is going to be really expensive from reading this thread. I wil buy a new system the first of May and the wife wants me to only spend $2000.

Configuring a Dual 3.2GHz Xeon with 1GIG at Dell comes in around $3000. Apparent the Dual Core EE will start here and go up quickly.

Well I guess tomorrow, if the info in this thread is correct, well see what the pricing on the Gen 5 Dells will be.

My current system is at BP6 (Dual Celeron) and boy is it tired!

What do you use your system for? Have you thought about going the dual Opteron route? It will be a lot cheaper for you in the long run.

I've always been an Intel guy but I won't say I am closed to the idea of a AMD. I know they are supposed to be a better than Intel when it comes to performance these days.

It will get used primarly as a multimedia/game PC. I want to connect it to my HDTV capable TV and my Pioneer 56TXi Receiver. I still need to research the HDTV part i.e. screen resolution for the the desktop.
