This is not a traditional riddle, but its taken from a book of "Lateral Thinking Puzzles". There are some details given, and some details left out, and you must figure out what happened.

If no one gets it, I may post some clues.

"As we all know, the sun rises every day in the east and sets in the west. One day, a man saw the sun rise in the west. How?"

Negatory. "No mirrors or reflections are involved. The man saw the celestial sun rise in front of him in the west." Besides, looking at something in the mirror does not change East/West.

No, this does not in any way involve the North or South poles. He was on Earth, but not at polar latitudes.

It was right when SuperMan got pissed because Lois died and started flying around the earth and made it spin backwards for a while.

Yes. I'm surprised someone got it so fast.

"He was the pilot of the Concorde. It took off shortly after sunset and flew west. It, therefore, caught up with the sun and the pilot saw the sun rise in front of him - in the west."

What kind of stupid riddle is this where you only give out all the clues after people have given out their ideas?

That's actually what I was going to say but I figured that wouldn't count for some reason.
