Today's Recommended Movie: Big Fish

just saw "Big Fish" yesterday, great movie, highly recommend. It's kind of a bizarre story-telling comedy where a younger guy tells the story of his dad, as his dad told it to him. Of course the dad is a wicked story-teller, so it makes the movie quite bizarre.

The commercials are so bad and indescriptive that it totally turned me off from the movie. Maybe ill rent it.
The commercials for it don't do it justice. It starts off a little slow but by the end you are totally engrossed in the story.

i just watched a bunch of tim burton, so i really need to see Big Fish.

i saw master and commander, too. it was pretty good, but not great. great sound effects, for sure.

it was a nice movie... but if you're only going to buy 1 DVD this weekend, make it Master and Commander 🙂

I really hated that movie. It just drug on and on and on with nothing really happening. I kept almost getting into it but never could get into it...

Just saw it for the first time tonight - it's was a great movie, very touchy-feely, but good non-the-less.

i saw it on the plane over the pacific. it was all right. good enough to pass the time on the plane. i'm not sure it's theater-worthy... and, it's true, the commercials didn't do it justice.

That's why mrsskoorb doesn't want to see it and I originally didn't, but it was filmed in al so what the hell. Plus I like ewan M

> It reminded me of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Apt comparison! I saw it last night and enjoyed it. It's a quiet and low-key movie with a bittersweet ending, so if you're looking for action/adventure or intense drama you'll be disappointed.

just finished it....what a turd of a movie. 3/10 Very disappointed from all the good things I'd heard about it.

what type of movie do you like?

I really liked big fish on its romantic idealism

He probably only likes movies where stuff blows up good and people's heads A-SPLODE!!! Oh, and movies with sh|tty jap cars that sound like weedwhackers.

I thought the movie was pretty good but I kind of expected a little more of those twisted "Burton visuals". I belive this is one of those movies I will have to watch again to relly appreciate it.
