This seems to afflict people in their later years. I've heard the following since Monday:

"I'll have a Miller's Lite."
"Do you have any aspirins?"
"I used to use American Online."
"It's not accepting my authentification."
"I'm going to Wal-Marts."
"I need to check my emails."

It's a minor annoyance, but it builds up.

It's less annoying than people who intentionally leave the same letter out of any word that starts with it...

Stop hanging out in the Oval Office then.

Would you say this could be narrowed down to a certain group of people?

I talk with a huge number of people from all over the US every single day. It's an informal case study...anytime this issue comes up it's from someone in the 50+ age range.

Hmm.. Damn. Even I'm guilty of that one.

Ironically, Google has 6.15 million results for "daylight savings time", and only 2.78 million results for "daylight saving time"..

I don't know that I've actually heard anybody say "Daylight saving time". That's weird.

Is it because "Daylight saving time" is an incomplete thought? It could mean the daylight is saving time.

But in the correct context, it does seem to make more sense than daylight savings time.

Not as annoying as people who use can't form a simple plural without throwing in an apostrophe.

I find myself annoyed by people that insert definite articles were they do not belong.

ex: "the Google."

That's an old person thing, too. They'll add "the" unneccesarily, "I'm going to the Wal-Marts!"
