Besides, if you want a great deal on a treadmill, all you have to do is look in the local paper ads, you can get them for almost nothing. People buy them, use them for a week, then let them sit until they are sick of looking at them and sell them very cheap to get rid of the reminder that they don't have the discipline to excercise, regardless of how easy they make it for themselves.

If you don't see an ad, put one in (small as possible) saying "WANTED - USED TREADMILL" + phone number, OR wait until February when all the "New Years Resolutions" have evaporated and there will be plenty to pick from.

That is a matter of opinion... It all really matters what you are trying to do... And to be perfectly honest they go hand in hand if you really want to get in shape...

I think Concept2 is the widely regarded as the best rower. Trying asking on rec.sport.rowing to get the best answer.
