Today was my first full eight-hour day, I was still doing training, but it gave me a good idea as to the procedure around the store and the employees around me. And despite everything everyone has said, I liked it . First off, the employees kick ass, my managers rule, and my supervisor is really laid back, but still gets the job done. He's able to switch from fun to serious modes at the right time, when appropriate.
We had a staff meeting today before the store opened with all the employees, and despite what I heard, managers weren't really that intense regarding making sales. Yes, they pushed it, but nothing I wouldn't expect. Everyone was just flat-out friendly, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Plus, it looks like the people in my department actually know what they're talking about (Home Theatre). And since we live in a high-class area (we're #31 in the country for sales), making quotas shouldn't be too hard. We're consistently above quotas, and right now we're 9% over
.
It's only my first day, but so far, so good!
