It's a special offer on Amazon Local today: http://local.amazon.com/boston

If you've been courting the Kindle, but haven't yet made your purchase, let today's deal bring you one step closer: get a free voucher to purchase a Certified Refurbished Kindle with Special Offers for $49.

There's no better way to enjoy books, magazines, and newspapers than with the Kindle. Your refurbished e-reader is a pre-owned Kindle that has been tested and certified to look and work like new. It even comes with the same one-year limited warranty as a brand-new Kindle. With the most advanced E Ink display, built-in Wi-Fi, and a massive selection of books to borrow or buy, the Kindle offers a revolutionary reading experience. Plus, when you're not reading, you'll receive unbeatable deals from AmazonLocal. Take your Kindle with you when you travel, or cozy up at home with your favorite novel. Either way, a Certified Refurbished Kindle for $49? Now that's a special offer.

I linked to Boston, but it should be applicable in any city.

Careful here; this is a bit confusing. Once you log in to get your voucher, the next step is actually ordering it. You'll get an email to go get the voucher, which you then apply to the purchase of the refurb Kindle. Still a great deal, if what you want is a small e-ink reader (I did!). Thanks, OP.

That's a pretty good deal. I saw one of these the other day and it seemed a little small though. Is there anything a little bigger that is still relatively cheap?

The Kindle black and white e-ink screen is great for reading text, which is what it's made for.

This is not a general-purpose tablet, it's just a book reader. It also won't work very well for comic books or other image-based content because of the size and lack of color.

It will let you read books from sources besides Amazon. You can buy DRM-free SF and fantasy for it from baen.com, and also use the free Project Gutenberg library of out-of-copyright older books.

I need to check that.... Last summer my library did not SUPPORT Kindle..
And most books to me are like most movies...... I own about 8 movies...
I think I own 4 books.

Hey, I am confused.... It say FREE voucher but the button says purchase voucher.
I presume when I go (My password is HOME) its a no charge purchase?
