Today is the Last Day of Black History Month...

...and what a great month it was...though I'm sure our resident bigots are happy it's over.

oh almost forgot:

" In 1899, George Grant received the first patent for the golf tee. But, the prominent Boston dentist never marketed his invention. Twenty-five years later, a white golfer patented a tee, marketed it, and was credited with the invention."

If there were any other race history month, for instance "Caucasian History Month" or "Hispanic History Month" then maybe I would care, but I think we would all be better off if the months were left as that, just months. Having a month dedicated to "Black History" just promotes the continuation of separation between blacks and whites (notice I didn't say racism, because that isn't what it promotes most of the time). </end rant>

Isn't tomorrow the last day of February?

Anyone have the quote from Chris Rock about Black History Month being the shortest month of the year? 😀

Ok, I think you missed the whole point of my post, and decided to argue of semantics.

I tend to agree. Hopefully I'll live long enough to see us all get over this color garbage. Doubtful though

 x1000 for Luther Vandross. His 'Give Me The Reason' Tape was my first musical purchase back when i was a kid in the U.K. I love Luther.. and this is the correct place for me to express that. I especially thank him for his songs, 'i know you want to', 'she don't mind', 'isn't there someone' and 'see me'. His music has been one of the greatest sources of simple enjoyment for me.

every 4 years, they give an extra 3.57% to black history month, but they don't want to admit it so they just call it leap day

enjoy today while it lasts 😉
We should do that with every day. When you get right down to it, the only time we're sure that we have is right now. So enjoy it while it lasts.
