Today is national code talkers day

The Navajo code talkers were a very important part of our WW2 victory. Today is to honor them. I read this book about 10 years ago and gained quite a bit of respect for these Marines. Do yourself a favor and Google them, and learn how important they were to us as a nation.

I now know a guy, American Indian guy who said he knew a guy who did this. Unfortunately that guy is now dead.

yup, the language was unknown outside the US at the time with a low number talkers making it perfect for this purpose.

Also something about the language root being outside of Europe or Asia made it particularly difficult to learn.
