So? there's plenty of reasons. The US teams have more money, don't have to pay as many fees and taxes, and have many times the amount of teams so the odds are greater. But anyway, &quot;hockey&quot; is not just the NHL for god's sake! Hockey is one of Canada's greatest past times. There probably isn't one single canadian guy who didn't play hockey in some form when he was a kid.

Crabapple - I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. The American TV stations have the money, which is why Canadian teams are struggling financially. Also, the majority of players are still Canadian. Canada should be very happy when the Avs won - Roy, Bourque, Sakic, Foote, Blake... incredible. Probably a third of team Canada was playing in the finals.

Dually - how are you so confident in what you say? Canada is a country, it is not up to the Queen, and you know it. Sorry to break it to you, but war isn't the only solution.
