if you are near a trader joe
go for their signature wine
nicknamed 2 buck chuck
its very cheap stuff but tastes good and is highly rated

as for other shops go to bev mo and buy their signature or go for the wines with the highest ratings

What would you recommend getting 😀

grow some and drink the beer or whiskey! 😛

otherwise, if you want to be like my girl, you can drink three blind moose. it is a relatively new wine that is on the up and up list. you can still get it for cheap, but not for long.

My list of decent wines under $20 (some under $10):

antinori santa christina
rosemount shiraz or shiraz/cabernet blend
seghesio zinfandel
almost any italian chianti
trinchero pinot noir
ca del solo sangiovese
most of coppola's stuff
echelon merlot or syrah
d'arnberg shiraz

Sorry, but you don't get to graduate straight to wine. The proper sequence is to drink a lot of beer until you actually learn to like it, and then start on the wine.

Viking Wineries Cabernet 1998. 93 points in wine spectator. oh wait, i drank the last bottle on earth. =D

Is there a limit to how much i can buy 😀

So many choices, ill probaby end up getting alot 🙂

In the end that is all that matters:evil:

Just remember, if you lose control of your bladder, remember that that much alcohol went through yoru liver okay, and you could probably do it few mroe times:beer:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up heading over to Trader Joe's and picked up a couple of bottles of what looked good. I've never been there before and wasn't too thrilled about their selection, but overall i think it was worth it. Next time I'll just order online or head out to Whole Foods.

After all those years of never attempting to purchase liquor or alcohol underage, THEY DIDNT EVEN CARD ME. I was sort of dissapointed. oh well.

Here's the pic of what i bought

OMG. Charles Shaw is the WORST stuff evar! But the nice thing about starting drinking if you don't know. 🙂
yep. looks like the $1.99 trader joe special. or as others have affectionately called it, the "two buck chuck". if anything, use charles shaw as a cooking wine.

If you are not into beer, what about a moderatly priced bottle of vodka? mix it with your favorite juice (orange, cranberry, etc)

HAppy Birthday!

Well, for chrissake, the boy can dream, can't he?! 😉 😛

I'd recomend trying out a bunch of different wines.

it took me a long time before I found a type of wine that I really, really enjoy drinking (reisling)
