Two Buck Chuck is absolutely dreadful.

yep. looks like the $1.99 trader joe special. or as others have affectionately called it, the "two buck chuck". if anything, use charles shaw as a cooking wine.
Cooking wine is just about all it is good for. Although I have to admit that I have met a lot of people that actually enjoy drinking Two Buck Chuck.

You pretty much just live and learn...

Actually, given the high ratings it has received in many wine competitions, I'd say some experts believe it to be a very good wine. And for the price, you can't beat it.

No, it's not a $20 bottle of wine, but it's an excellent $2 bottle. :thumbsup:

What constitutes an excellent $2 bottle of wine exactly?

I think it's truly dreadful wine, but if you enjoy it then that's all that matters; just don't kid yourself about it being an example of good wine anymore than a Heineken is good beer.
