Please keep in mind that I've been in a fibro flare-up for about 10 days. Pay no attention to my hair or clothes. I know I look like sh!t. The focus should be the adorable deer. 😉 😛

We've got a lady around this neighborhood, who actually puts out garbage for the skunks. OMG! I shot six of 'em a couple years ago, though that's illegal, and they're still all over the place! Wildlife is swell, so long as there's checks & balances.

I was driving home one night and stopped to let deer cross and then one decided to run back just as I was passing and SHE hit ME! Dorky thing!

Ornery - I do know what you mean. I just really love them. lol I don't leave any other kind of food out, we'd attract bears otherwise. We do have a birdfeeder hanging from our upper outside deck, but you can't access the deck from the ground. 🙂

i was just at front royal last week. its the northern tip of shenandoah valley. it was really nice weather last saturday.

feeding deer = bad. they come to expect food from you and will eventually become a nuisance and then aggressive. i was at a campground years ago, and people had been feeding a deer. she would stand at the edge of the woods and look into people's campsites. my dad went to the car (which was parked in a parking lot a short distance away) and she followed him closely. this is, of course, not natural behavior for a wild animal. they might seem cute at first, but they can become a problem if they receive regular feedings from people.

elderly - I was careful. There were a couple of the older females that were territorial and didn't want the buck and another female there. I do know that they're never truly tame. 🙂
