Today I bought me a great portable CD player!

Today my Computer Science team and I went to another competition in another city, and the bus ride takes about two hours each way... two other people had portable CD players and were enjoying themselves, while I stared into space.

So today, when we returned, I went to Walmart and got a Philips AZT9240 portable CD player with CD-R/RW capability and a radio tuner. Very nice.
While I was at it, I bought a package of four rechargeable Alkaline AA batteries, with a recharger.

Tomorrow or some other day I'm gonna buy a "car kit", which includes a DC adapter for the cigarette plug, and a CD-to-tape converter. Since I already have a carplug-to-AC converter from another purchase a long time ago, this will also allow me to listen to it using regular household voltage.

Hehe, just wanted to share my happy news with y'all. :p

edit: Prices: the portable CD player - $70; recharger - $10; 4-pack batteries - $7. With tax, this was about $96. The car kit costs $20, but is quite useful, since my car only has a tape player.

Oh thank God, and people say the level of discussion has gone downhill here, they have all just been proven wrong.

Sony MZ-R700DPC....I love minidisc. It replaced my MZ-R30 from 1997/1998.

I still have a portable CD player...I never use it though.

You should take it back and then get one with mp3 playback capability, such as the rio volt.

I did not buy a MP3 player not because I prefer CDs, but because I want to wait for Ogg Vorbis. Besides, a CD player that supports CD-Rs and CD-RWs is definitely not 1980s material.
