today has just started out bad

Today has just started out as a bad day. I woke up with my allergies going nuts. No big deal, pop an allegra d and go to wake the kid up. He doesnt want to get up. UGH. Argue with him for ten minutes, and finally get him up, fed and dressed. We head out the door and get all the way to the car before I realize I left all my money inside. Go back to grab that. Finally get going in the car and the car is driving all weird. It only took me about ten feet worth of driving to realize that I had a flat. Pull over and find a HUGE nail stuck in my tire. Go to change the tire, but the old one is rusted on. Nice.

So I decide that today doesnt exist. I called the kid's school and told them he isnt coming, then called my work and told them the same thing.

SCREW TODAY!

Good call. Sometimes its best to quit while you're ... well, nevermind. And, your name is very fitting in this situation, that would have been awesome if my dad called me school and let me have the day off.

It would great if you took him out today and spent some good dad/son time playing golf or something.

Yea, staying home probably a wise idea if you've a feeling that you'll be in bad luck for the rest of the day.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I had a 3-week project due today, a test in American History, a "informative speech", a RFP writing assignment for my tech. writing class... tomorrow I have a short-term project due that I haven't gotten started on and an Accounting test.

The speech and the writing assignment I hadn't managed to touch. I have a speech and writing assignment due every week, in between doing projects for classes and 5 hours of accounting homework every week, it's hell trying to get it all done.

Last night I was working from 6 until 2AM on the project due today, because I got the bright idea last week to scrap what I had and start over.

Today I just decided to skip English and Speech, do both of those for Wednesday. I've been doing good in the classes so I don't mind taking the small hit on the grades for these.

probably shouldn't have gone out this weekend, but I need some f-cking time to myself, eh?

Yeah, I agree. You'll be an even greater hero if you do something together. I have fond memories of the few times my dad would show up at my school without notice, and we'd take the rest of the day off for lunch, fishing, whatever.

I bet your kid is pretty happy, after all, he didn't want to get out of bed in the first place! take him to get some food. Food fixes all problems, at least temporarily.
