I am going to see them in concert on Monday. I used to love this band when I was a teen. Hopefully they don't blow now.

didn't they sing that song about being behind the boat house or lake or something with a secret?

Possum Kingdom

Yeah that's the only song I know from them.

*not to be confused with Toad The Wet Sprocket ;)

Rubberneck was a great album, especially "Tyler". John, you're thinking of "Possum Kingdom" from the same album. Another great song.

I've never seen them live, but apparently they like to cover a Pixies song or two, so that should be fun. I have a recording of them doing "Where is my Mind" which is pretty good.

I saw them in concert probably 11 or 12 years ago. They sounded better than any live performance I've seen. Some bands sound great in the studio but suck live. The Toadies were great live.

New cd is good and saw them about 2 years ago on their first show since being broke up forever. The guitarist said he hadn't practiced since they broke up and they still were amazing. Todd lewis by playing with the burden brothers has definitely gotten a lot better and his voice is even better from the years. Totally recommend them and they'll rape you dry.

I'd never heard they were back together. I bought the Burden Brothers albums because I liked them so much, and the sound was pretty similar. Several REALLY great tacks on that Burden Brothers album.

Good to know they're back to rockin it... and have a new album out (?!)

Their album came out on August 18th. They've been touring for awhile, although their official "No Deliverance Tour" started at the beginning of August.

Im seeing them when they come to Lubbock on Sept. 25.

The band has three of the four "original" members. The female bassist, one of the reasons they broke up, is not with the band this time around. The new albums is up their with the original. There are easily 5 great songs, and the rest are good as well. If they had a major label backing them they could have some more chart hits, but with a small label it isnt going to happen because you gotta be on a big one to get a ton of radio air play.

I like, not love, but they are good.

and Possum Kingdom is a lake west of Fort Worth, TX. The Toadies are from the DFW area.

You guys were right. They do put on an awesome live show. I was very pleased.
My only complaint was this Richard Ramirez look a like dancing like a maniac and bumping into me. He reeked of patchouli and I think some of it got on me :(
That wasn't the Toadies fault though.

They are touring again??? that is freaking awesome. Though it is absurdly over played, Opposum Kingdom is a fucking amazing song.

Sweet. Thats enough for me, I'm buying it. I love Rubberneck and Hell Below/Stars Above, still listen to them all the time. Both were really great albums IMO.
