In general, I think trying to dispute the claims that conspiracy theorists are coming up with is pointless. If you refute one point, they're going to blindly suggest another. It's a battle that you can't win... and there's no way they'll change their minds. The fact that they believe in such an absurd theory is proof enough that they're fanatics. At that point I don't believe there's a turning-back point.

QFT.

It's like trying to convince a Christian that ghosts can't get people pregnant. No matter how much logic or reason flies in their face, they're already sold on the idea.

Why single out Christians when all religion is based on myths and blind faith?
Pretty "elite" reponse there...

Had to check to make sure it wasn't a signup from last week.

Try not to threadjack an interesting thread please, thanks.

How am I "thread jacking" when I responding to a fscking post?

Pull your panties out of your ass crack and chill there, skippy.

There is no disputing that the collapse of the towers began at the point of impact where the planes hit the buildings so how do you explain that? Besides, wouldn't the planes have set off the explosives?

Puts flame suit on and waits for tinfoil hat crowd.

Hey, at least I'm not attacking people personally for merely expressing an opinion on a post. He attacked Christianity for it's believer's blind faith in a myth. I simply asked WHY he singled out Christianity.

BTW, how's that hard-on you're sportin' for me, skippy? Are your balls turning blue yet?

Explain how a cell phone stays connected for several minutes travelling 300-400 miles per hour, 5-7 miles high over rural Pennsylvania, inside a metal can. Remember, cell tower antennas are directional, designed to cover horizonal wedges. Yet the magic cell phones on that day merrily hopped from cell to cell under the worst possible reception conditions without dropping the calls.

The conspiracy: The Air Force shot that plane out of the sky and the "hero story" was made up out of whole cloth. No cell calls, no "Let's roll", no passengers retaking the plane, nothing. All made up to cover the shoot down.

Enjoy.
That theory requires the relatives who actually talked to people on the plane to imagine that they heard their loved one's voice.
Impossible, just like all the rest.

The intelligent people in this thread should realize that this conspiracy theory crap does us all a great service:

It makes the idiots among us incredibly easy to spot.

You mean the actors the government hired to pose as relatives? You'll weigh the word of two or three government witnesses over the physical impossiblity of maintaining cell connections? Add to it Donald Rumfeld's statement on 9/12 declaring that the American people may never know all the things the government was doing in the war? See this is easy.

Why do you need bombs? Why just get a "terrorist" to hijack the plane (pressured by the gov). Anyways, that's IF this is a conspiracy. :p

How do you know a conspiracy theory is full of crap? When it grows to hundreds and hundreds of co-conspirators just to fill in the holes... and it keeps on growing.

BTW, Flight 92 was flying at low altitude and much slower than 400 MPH when it crashed.

Another one proving their stupidity and how they have absolutely no clue about how the world really works. As Viper said earlier, these idiots make themselves so easy to spot.

Who said I believed the conspiracy? One was asked for so I offered one. Now go back to your government/corporate controlled media and lap up what they offer; it's good for you. ;)

I don't see buddhists trying to ram their faith down my throat and influence US politics the way I see Christianity doing it in the US. The US is getting dumber because of it.

But yes, most religions are a scam.

Cell phones do work in a plane. You're not allowed to use them, but I have used them before. And as far as 300-400 mph goes, that's nothing compared to the speed of electronic communication. There's nothing blocking the line of sight communication, either.

Please refrain from speaking of that which you know nothing at all about.

It is not a physical impossibility. It is you lacking knowledge.

Cell phones do work on a plane. It's against the law, but it still works. Also, you can make (expensive) calls on a plane using their phone. The law is purely for safety reasons and not because of any technical problems getting a cell phone to work in a plane.

But yes, most religions are a scam.

Christianity is far from the most oppressive, or most dangerous religion in the world.

And as it stands, fundamental Christianity's influence in American policy is waning, NOT growing. Lest you forget the Victorian era and a dozen other examples I could give you.

The RR makes a lot of noise, and their equally rabid opposition spreads a lot of fear over them, but in the grand scheme of things, they get very little accomplished.

It's easy if you want to ignore the facts. Cell phones most certainly DO work on planes. End of story.
And I suppose that the government went to the lengths of making sure that the people on the planes cell #'s showed up in the phone records to their loved ones, too.

Sorry, but all these conspiracy theories simply have to ignore the overwhelming preponderance of evidence to even be considered.

Viper was right.
