To use or sell a core 2 due e6700...

Dilemma... I was just able to pick up a core 2 due e6700 for a little less than $300... definitely a hot buy, but then i now need to spend another couple of hundred bucks for ram and mobo. the problem is i built my computer only a couple of months ago... not sure whether this additional upgrade would be worth the cost. if i upgraded, i'd probably give my cpu, ram and mobo to my brother... if not, i'd probably just sell the cpu to make some profit....

would the upgrade to e6700 from the 4400 provide noticeable performance increase using the crossfire setup? what would you do..?

Well it depends on if you got alot of money. If you can afford to buy a mobo/ram for the CPU then I'd go for it. Me on the other hand I couldn't afford the e6700 let alone the mobo/ram to go with it, so I would sell the e6700 and worry about upgrading again when Crysis/UT2007 and others come out. Looking at your system specs though it looks like you can afford it .

I would sell it also. You got a real nice system already. If you were coming from an old system, that would be a different story.

Well, if it were me I'd build a rig around that E6700 and then sell the 4400 if I didnt want to keep it. But thats just me. A E6700 system will spank a 4400 X2 system outright.

Maybe you could hold on to it until you get up some money for the other parts? That's what I would do. It's a screamin' CPU.
That is if you're not hurting for money. If you are, sell it.

hehe yah...

the cpu won't be here until about middle of september... i'm sorta leaning towards keeping it and giving away the old stuff to my bro. still, $750ish for another upgrade is just...ugh. oh well, i'll see how fat my bank account is next month or so. 😀
