To use,or not to use........

Today my Global WIN Fop32-1 came in for my 1ghz t-bird. No thermal paste came w/ it. My question is, will it be ok to use just the HSF w/out thermal paste? I do intend to do some light overclocking. The case i have is an Antec SX830,so i will have decent ventilation. So should i buy some paste, or will it be ok to just throw on th hsf? TIA

Use the paste arctic silver is the best but if you can't wait even the Radio Shack stuff is better than nothing and will tide you over till you can get some arctic silver

Thanks for the reply dadx2mj. After reading a few posts that i searched, i guess AS,or any thermal grease is a must for a t-bird. So,i just went and ordered some from kd computers. Thanks

Yes definately use some kind of thermal paste. I have run older CPUs with out it as an experiment and it does make a difference.

cost of any interface material is worth saving your T-bird...
