I received mine today but there are two problems. There are some light scratches on the window (doesn't bother me all that much, because in a few months I'd probably put some scratches of my own on there). But the big problem is that switch to control the front fans is missing. After taking the front cover off it looks like it got snapped off prior to shipping. It says on the back of the invoice that all case problems will have to be returned and get an RMA within 5 days. Now by looking at it, it looks like simply replacing the entire header would solve the problem and it looks like it only screws in two places. I have an older Lian-Li PC10 that maybe I could switch the headers to. I've already emailed PCmods about this, but do you think they'll simply give me a replacement piece? Or am I stuck sending my entire case back? (By the way, this case rocks!! All those looking for a good case, should look at this one.)

D'oh! that sucks about the switch. Ask them if they can ship you that module header. Otherwise you could get creative and make a new switch using superglue and a small piece of plastic, or something with a hole small enough to fit what is left of the switch into. It would probably annoy me, but honestly I don't use that switch at all atm, the noise difference between the 3 settings is indiscernable to me unless I hold my ear right next to it. I'm swapping out the addas though, so I may need the switch afterwards.

Also, those may not be scratches on the window. If you got the modified blowholes, they use a template that leaves glue marks. Use some acetone/isopropyl and some Q-tips or a lint-free cloth to see if that clears it up. I had some glue tracings that looked like scratches at first, but turned out to be just glue :)

G'luck.

Chiz, you've been of so much help to me, I don't know what I'd do without your help.

Anyways, I think they are scratches, because I decided not to get the one with the blowholes on the side. It's no big deal though, because I'll probably end up getting a replacement window with blowholes later down the line. I can always order $35 side panels, it's not big deal.

About the switch, I was so :| about it, until I remembered that my older PC-10 Lian Li has the same 3 step fan switch, except to change that one you have to open up the case. I compared the two and it looked like it was the exact same one except they were mounted onto different risers (The 65 sticking out from the case so the switch can poke through the front, and the PC-10 going into the case to not hit the front bezel). 5 minutes of screwdriver work and a little switch-aroo and volla... New switch. Same thing, and doesn't matter that my PC-10 now lacks one, I plan on using that case for my sister's computer in the summer.

I probably wouldn't even use the switch at all, but being a perfectionist, it would eat me alive knowing that the switch was broken.

NP man, I think I dropped ya that link to the PC-65, so I'd feel bad if you were upset with a recommendation I made. :(

I dunno, I'd still inform them about it. $35 turns into like $45 after shipping, and PCMods does carry identical PC-65 panels with windows.

Yah, I figured the header was the same, the only difference I thought might be the lenght of the switch between this and the standard PC-65's with no external adjustment. Glad its using risers and they are compatible parts, I know exactly what you mean, its all in the details. Its a tough balance though I know heh, now that you have the case in your possession you don't wanna send it back and wait for it :)

The panel though I would pursue replacement; you can live for a week or two with no panel and set up the rest of your rig.

Not sure, I'm guessing they are around 25CFM with similar dBA levels; they are kinda loud for not pushing air. I think its actually a dual-bearing fan, which was kinda surprising b/c I think I read they are sleeve-bearing. Anyways, you could probably pull the model # off the rear fan and look it up on Adda's site. I'm yankin em this weekend, so they won't be in my case much longer :)

I see that you have the A78NX-DX like I do and the same case. Do you have your front USB port connected to the motherboard? I want to connect them, but by looking at the manual and searching Lian-Li's site, I couldn't figure out how.

Yes, I do, and they work. Its kinda funky but you can use logic and a process of elimination to get everything hooked up correctly. Basically you have 9 connectors. 2 are GND, those are self explanatory. The other is like NC. That is the last single header on the board that is not paired. Start by splitting the headers from the USB patch cable into their labeled groups, should be something obvious like 1 and 2 with some +/-'s and numbers following. Then disregard the numbers and connect them accordingly based on the patch wires grouping using the +/-'s. This should leave you with just one header for each row, and again just plug it in based on its grouping, 1 or 2. I can give more explicit instructions when I get that layout sheet in front of me, was like 2 weeks ago that I did it so I don't recall exactly what is on the headers.

Chiz, thanks for the help. I gave it a trial and error trial with the USB connectors and lucky for me I got it right. :) I am so happy with this board, haven't had any troubles setting it up. It wouldn't boot off my hard drive that already had XP on there so I threw a spare HD and formatted and reinstalled. Both NIC's work, sound, usb, everything's perfect.
