I just got mine in the mail today.

Pretty sweet deal, $79.XX after rebate...

it'll do 1280x1024@75hz.

Anyone else grab it and love it? Full 3 year warranty, parts+labor.

It's obviously not flat, and it's not the best looking monitor, either. But, for $100 less than any other 17" on the market, i'll DEAL.

Gracias.

I ordered it yesterday, but it was removed from my order this morning as being out of stock. I was able to order it again this afternoon when it was back in stock for an hour or so. I obviously haven't gotten it yet, but I did see it in the store, and thought that it was a hot deal for $70, especially shipped at that price.

My nephew is going away to college in the fall, and I told my sister I'd build him a machine to take with him. With all of these Pres. Day deals, it's costing practically nothing.

Now, if the Antec case would have been marked down to $30, I would have been in even better shape. Since that didn't happen, I still have to get a case and decide on a motherboard/cpu combo. Everything else was purchased this weekend.

Yeah this is a good deal. I go to the LA computer fair in Pomona CA and build custom machines. These (300) vendors are highly competitive. The new 17 in moniters dont sell that low.

I just got mine - from my tests, it cannot do 1280x1024 @ 75Hz - only 60Hz. Looks better @ 1024x768 anyway though.

How does this deal compare to the $60 17" Pixie monitor that was on here a couple of months ago? Is the Envision in the same catagory as the Pixie?

I just called staples and in my area (MN) they were still sold out, but they said to try back in 3 days and they should have another shipment in. Rebate is valid til 2/25, and the delta cd-rom rebate is valid til 2/24, so you can get the cd-rom and monitor shipped for 79.96+tax if you use the $40 off $200 coupon.

Other traders were reporting that they were receiving NEC branded monitors. Did you guys actually get an "Envision" branded monitor? I ordered one as well and was just hoping to get an NEC. Not that it really matters since it is for my wife's system. This will make her happy enough to quit bitching about my 19".

I called ahead to have them hold one for me at the Boise store, they said they had two left. They brought me a monitor and it rang up for $239, I paid for it then realized it was the wrong model. I talked to a manager, since they were out of the other one, he sold me the more expensive monitor for $99, and I don't even have to send in a rebate!

The one I ended up with was the EN780, a .25 16" viewable FLAT-SCREEN, an upgrade from the advertised EN710.

Booyah!

I was in the market for a new monitor recently, and if anyone else on here is too, I recommend the Proview PRO-720 17" monitor advertised at Circuit City for $180 with a $80 rebate. It's a little more expensive than some of the other deals like the Envision one, but in my opinion the quality of the picture seems a lot better. Darker blacks, crisper colors... if you're going to be playing games or watching movies, it's worth an extra $20 or so to me.

BTW, I had tried two different 15" Sony Trinitrons from staples.com for $120 after coupon before... if you're like me and just like that flat screen or the Sony name or something... well trust me, do NOT get that monitor, avoid it like the plague. Trinitrons SUCK. There is a permanent gray line running across the middle of your screen, it's very annoying, and it's SUPPOSED to be like that. Sony makes the monitors so that a wire gets in the way of the display and casts a gray shadow. Every Trinitron monitor has it. Plus the particular one I had, had this incredibly annoying habit of shifting in and out of focus... and it was only 15" anyway. Screw that.
