yeah, AT&T @Home went up this month, it's like 45 bucks now. but it would have to be like 100 bucks for me to go to dial up. maybe that's why they are really raising the price. they know there are diehard computer people who just have to have a fat pipe.

You have to understand that many many people are on dial-up because they can't get cable internet service in their area. Or they travel with a laptop.

I pay $46 after the raise. They have improved the service. I wish it were lower, but will not complain....unless it goes up again..

Cox upped our cost $5 too, but I don't mind too much since they raised our download to 1.5mb, but I wish they'd give us more upload than 128k.

Don't flatter the Canadian Dollar, that's more like $26 USD.

The price increase doesn't bother me or my parents much.. it's still better than $18 a month dialup + $22 a month for a second phone line, with speeds much much faster for basically $5 more now. CableTV for a lower price is nice as well. :)

Hmm... I don't get ANY broadband access and I don't pay ANYTHING for it! :(

But it's not available in my area anyway. They've recently put optical cable out in my direction, but the service is not officially up yet.

/me waits patiently

It says the rates go up in September. That is why your rates have yet to go up.
LP, I have cox cable modem in San Diego where this article is from and my service is only $30/month. I own my own modem though. $10 to rent from cox. Kinda blows though, I just bought this modem to lower my long term costs and they go and up the rate 50% of what I was going to save.:|

Good thing I don't use @home! :) I heard through the grap vine that TW was thinking about lowering there rates to compete with DSL. Not sure though! If they do, I'm a happy camper!

I'm paying US$25/month for 5Mbps/1Mbps cable Internet and it won't go up. Canadian cable internet rules:) I've heard the two big Canadian cable companies are lessening their reliance on the @Home network. Kinda ironic seeing how they had everything in place first of all and went to @Home because it would supposedly make things better.

I just got my bill. Expanded TV service is going up as well as the rental on analog converter boxes (digital service is near). No increase on Internet access! :p

Oh yeah, the Internet service is $29.95 + $10 modem rental per month. If I subscribed to the expanded TV serivce, the Internet service would drop to $19.95 + rental. Long live Cox@RR-Fairfax!
