To those of you with a blue tooth headset for your cell phone

A sale at our compusa has a Motorolla bluetooth headset for $30 after an instant rebate. Normally it's $50. I was thinking about picking this up on an impulse buy. Im not going to wear it in public and be one of those annoying people who think they're cool. I was planning on just using it when Im in the car driving (I drive a manual) or when Im in my house on the phone. What do you guys think? Are they useful for you guys?

I have one and it sits in my car all the time, never used. I don't like the way it fits, make sure to try a lot of them on before buying one.

I got one for free a while back and used it for maybe two or three weeks when I was either driving or just around the house, but I just got annoyed with dealing with it since I'm not the kind of person that'd going to leave it on my ear when I'm not using it and then I have to put it on whenever I got a call or if I didn't want to use it I'd have to deactivate it, etc... Plus it killed my battery life dramatically on my cell, so I don't really use it anymore.

very useful, i got the motorola H700 or something like that when they whre 50% off at motorola.com (120 got for 60 bucks) crystal clear, and use when driving mostly. sometimes at work, when multi-tasking.

I got one recently. My plan was to use it only in the car, but I've found that now I'm just too lazy to unholster my BB to answer a call when I can use the headset instead...

They might be useful, but then you have to deal with the fact that they look retarded.

with a BB or Palm it is a must....otherwise your arm will get tired holding that brick up to your ear....

oh yeah i forgot to say that i use mine all the time with my moto v557...i'm actually thinking of upgrading to a lighter one...bt250v to a JX-10...

i use mine all the time. for $30 i would jump on it.

it's just nice not to be holding the phone up all the time and as others have stated, it is now required by law to use handsfree when driving in many states. i wont talk and drive without it regardless.

Very useful at home for calls. I never use it outside since I don't expect those calls to exceed a couple of minutes.

I like the one I have (Plantronics 320(?)). Very light. Only trouble I have is trying to remember the many beep codes that are used for different things.

But for voice dialing, answering, ending calls, it's great.

I bought one a few months ago. But since I don't like wearing them when I'm not on the phone, I kept it in my pocket until I needed it, and it broke. I probably won't buy another one.

I like mine, but it usually sits at home unused. I attibute it to not using the phone that much when I am in the car, which is what I got the headset for.

I have a Logitech Mobile Freedom and it works great. My wife has a pink Motorola BT headset, forget the model, and it's not so great. I use the headset mainly on long commutes (my previous job's commute was 2 hour round trip). For short distances I just use speakerphone. If you'll use it, it's useful. If you buy a good model, it will have quality audio. The Logitech model is great and can be had for under $40 online.

I use it all the time. Regardless of the local law, driving around holding a cell is dangerous. Besides, it's more comfortable, and saves you from the phone radiation. I get headaches using the phone without a headset.
I use those things for two years now, have no idea what I'd do without it... Just make sure you use your phone's voice dialling abilities and then it's a true relief.

It's supposed to be the law, so I wasted my money on one that I never use, the police here don't enforce it.
