The US needs to start using coins with larger values. In Canada, shopping carts as some stores require a $1 coin before they can be pulled out of the trough. When you bring the cart back, you get your $1 back. The parking lot at Superstore has exactly 0 abandoned carts :D
A block over, the walmart parking lot is a maze of carts. They're everywhere, and there's a good chance some shit head will let one roll into your car while you're parked there.

We do have a $1 coin...it's just that nobody uses it :D

I have seen carts go flying around parking lots though, and it's shitty. I saw one nail a person who probably thought they were safe - nice shiny black E-class, parked super far away from everything. That just gave the cart enough time to pick up speed lol.

Ironically, shopping carts in most Asian countries have the same coin system. In Taiwan, it's a NT$10 coin (equivalent ~US$0.30), and there are very few places to return the cart... but everyone does.

I've long endorsed the coin-in shopping cart thing in the States. Saves the store money because they don't have to send someone out to retrieve the carts, and saves my car from being beat up. Even if lazy people don't want to handle their own carts, we've got enough homeless people and people picking up aluminum cans and whatnot that I'm sure there'd never be an abandoned cart in a lot.

It would take just one major store to do it first. After that, other stores will follow.

So... who wants to be a millionaire? Be the guy to import this already existing product into the US and market it to stores. Be that guy, and you'll make a load of cash.

If this was about black shoppers leaving carts there, this thread would be closed. Why the double standard? Fuck you OP.

And I hate the way Asian women are so slim and wear those god damn skirts to school with the tight white shirts! Who the hell do they think they are?

This is not how sustainable profitability works. There is nothing about this income model that is rare, inimitable, non-tradable, and non-substitutable, or even firm-specific. (barney 1991,1999)

Basically, if an idea to make money isn't any of ^these^ then you have failed to come up with an idea that'll make you rich.

Whoever they want to be as long as they keep wearing shorter and shorter skirts each year. ;)

Blah blah blah blah.... derp. (spongebob 1969,1337)

I didn't say anything about "sustainable profitability". It already exists; introduce it to a new market. Be first to introduce. Make the money. Copycats and undercutters will soon swoop in to cut you off.

...or just sit on your ass and bitch about the Asians (while they're assimilating your country).

:p

Money talks bitches. Azn with money and they are always right if you want to keep your job. I think 5$ cart rental won't do shit cuz they gonna leave the cart stranded and Mexicans or brack ppl will take em and redeem for refund.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you provide a picture to demonstrate the problem?

OP is the loser who has to pick up the carts after.

Dude get over yourself, I'm annoyed because it is an inconvenience as well as a bad reflection upon asians. If you don't do it then great. It's not really racist if it's somewhat proven. Notice the number of cart workers at assi or some other Korean market vs Walmart or something.

no, how about YOU get over yourself? i've dealt with these cart scenarios for over 30 years and its never bothered me. you want inconvenience? try living in Sudan or Somalia where they are starving to death while you bitch and moan about asians and shopping carts.

So by that logic you should also not be bitching about my posts? Or has starving to death not been hardening enough for you?

Bad reflection? From shopping carts? How about them NOT gang up and beat up other minorities just because of color of skin? How about them NOT gang up and go wild and robbing and stealing at c-stores? How about them NOT robbing with guns and beating up the elders? Shall I go on?

You compare WM (one of the largest companies in the world) to some mom and pop stores?

BTW, I went to WM two days ago, and carts were all over the parking lot. Do you see me make a thread and bash "white/black/hispanic/native american/fill in the blank"? You are the one that need to get over yourself. Don't like it, don't shop there.

Not racist if somewhat proven? Hummmm...hey mods, is it a double standard here?

One more thing, it is Asians, not asians.

Assi is no mom and pop store. Mayhaps you do some research? Idk wtf you're rambling about for most of this.

Assi = 2,000 employees
WalMart = 2.1 MILLION employees AND #1 of Fortune 500 (largest company in the US in 2011)

And you want to compare them?

You still don't get it so I will spell it out for you, again.

Don't like it, don't shop there.

Provide a service to stores with your own carts, return area, upkeep, etc etc. Have some kid in each metro area spend all day at $12/hr to drive to each location to check on the return stables and such. Possibly provide 'insurance' against cart damages.
