Based on the excellent recommendation provided on this forum, I purchased a Hitachi CLM175. Thank you all. MonitorsDirect had an excellent deal on this monitor ($399 and free shipping!) A rep from MD called before I received it to let me know of his contact information if there are any problems. Kudos to MonitorsDirect!
The picture is excellent and the monitor is outstanding. However I have one minor complaint: Is there something that can be done with the sometimes grainy fonts? I'm using native resolution (1280x1024) and DVI. My card is an Nvidia EVGA MX2. Yes, this is an old card. 🙂 These grainy fonts are most noticable on such apps as notepad. BTW, my OS is Win XP.
This may be just a nature of LCDs but I thought I ask.
Also, are there any XP drivers available for this monitor anywhere? The provided disk has inf files and the Hitachi site contained old drivers.
