Viper is less than $100k and will smoke the vette!Originally posted by: LordJezo
Just wondering.. I love the way that car looks.. even the new ones. It's the closest thing to a race car you can drive and not have to pay over $100,000 for...
BUT! It is an American car, so I guess that means it's crap.. right?

Grab one and let me know what you think. I'm curious about how hard it is to get at parts under the hood. Seems reasonably priced. You could probably sell it for what you pay for it five years from now.

I guess that depends on why you are getting the WRX. It is a car that can drive in almost any condition. Would you be driving your vette in a foot of snow?

I would buy a WRX STi over a vette any day, given I had the cash.
You sure about that? Stock? 300HP and 300ftlbs is nothing to scoff at, by any means... Although, I suppose you're right.. a blown V8 would make more.. and with the difference in price between a vette and a WRX STi, i'm sure you could mod it quite a bit.Originally posted by: Hayabusarider

Its a matter of taste of course, but if we are talking results, the car I am thinking of would trounce the STi on any paved road in america. It simply cannot compete. Of course if you are more interested in show than go...

Both are different cars. The Euro cars generally offer more sophistication and comfort. A different feel. Of course that comes at a cost. Because a car is fast, does not mean it cannot have different characteristics.

weird, european cars used to be known for stiff suspensions, not comfort.
american cars used to favor comfort of handling.

I have been in an S4, and a 'vette. The Audi was definitely the more comfy car, and the extreme Mercs. would be even moreso. They do not offer a plush ride like a Fleetwood of course. When making comparisons, you have to stay within the context of the vehicles purpose. Now, as I said, this is a general rule. I would imagine an F40 would be kind of stiff.![]()
