To stay in Vet School or not?

Right now I?m in Vet school to become a Certified Vet Tech, before that I had worked as a Vet Asst. for two years. There are many things I enjoy about the field, seeing cool stuff like surgery, the knowledge, helping people and animals and it?s always a great conversation piece.

But now I?m going through all the things that I dislike or right out hate about it and wondering if this is really what I want to do. High Stress, low pay (most CVTs make 13-15Hr unless they are VERY good or lucky, most Docs make 60-70k a year at best unless they own a successful ER), Health hazards, working with mainly women that make drama when there need not be, long hours if I work at an ER and learning about all the horrid ways things can die (being constantly reminded about death can start to wear on you after some time).

To make the choice even harder, the job I have currently is the best job I?ve ever had! I get paid well for what I do will have many doors opened with nowhere to go but up, but it makes me wonder if all I?m thinking about is money and not what the best choice is for me.

Really it?s comes down to this, I enjoy having the knowledge and helping people when they need it. But having to deal with all the other crap every day just makes it very hard to enjoy.

Since I?m just paying my way as I go so I could easily stop classes for a while and take a break from school or try something else but it feels like I?m just wasting time trying to make up my bloody mind.

Wait wait. You don't think there are jobs out there that are anything other than high stress low pay do you?

There is a slight difference in stress when you need to have a report due on monday Vs. holding down a 90lb pitbull that is trying to eat your face and then having to run anesthesia on a dog with a heart murmur 20min later.

It's one thing right after the other.

Sorry, don't understand. Try someone without a job.

Edit: Sorry, to stay on topic, I'd definately stay in school for as long as you can. Instead of making a list of reasons why you think the job won't be good, just think back to the reasons why you began vet school in the first place. The good reasons.
